All-American in 1987 ... won six Missouri Valley Conference Championships ... after his Redbird career, Frerker became a star in international competitions in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan ... placed first in the 1,500 meters at the 1991 U.S. Olympic Festival ... in 1992 he was ranked No. 1 nationally in the indoor mile and was a finalist at the US Olympic Trials ... became head coach of the men's and women's track and field and cross country programs at SIU Edwardsville in 1995.
