Graduated from ISU in 1961 ... girl's swim coach at Maine South ... during her 11-year head coaching tenure, no team finished lower than 10th place in the IHSA State Meet, which included third-place finishes in 1981 and 1983, second-place distinctions in 1976 and 1985 and the first IHSA sponsored state championship in 1975 ... coached four state champions and seven All-Americans ... named the Illinois Swimming Association's Coach of the Year in 1976 and 1984 ... former chair of the IHSA Swim Advisory Committee ... inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1979 ... led the Marlin Swim Club to national prominence in aquatic art.
