Three-year letterwinner in track ... recorded a long jump of 23 feet 2 1/2 inches that was an Illinois State standard for 23 years ... as head track coach at Normal Community High School, he founded the Normal Relays, one of the state's major events ... also founded the National Trackette Association ... was a regional representative for the Illinois Track Coaches Association and for six years was on the IHSA Advisory Board.
