Four-year letterwinner ... led the Redbirds to four-straight undefeated Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) championships ... ISU owned a 54-13 dual-meet record during his career ... won the IIAC No. 3 singles championship and the No. 1 doubles crown in 1952 (teaming with Tom Henderson, a member of the ISU Athletics Hall of Fame) ... claimed the conference's No. 2 singles title, while winning his second-straight No. 1 doubles championship with Evan Strawn as his partner in 1953 ... led the Redbirds to their first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) district and national tournaments in school history (1953) ... in 1954, captured the No. 1 singles championship and was a three-time champion at No. 1 doubles, teaming with John Holcomb ... team captain in 1954.
