MVP for both Illinois State and the Interstate Conference in 1955 and 1956 ... led Illinois State in scoring for four seasons, averaging 24.6 points per game over his career ... scored 1,881 in his career ... averaged 14.5 ppg in freshman season, 19.2 as a sophomore, 26.9 as a junior, 29.5 as a senior ... scored 37 or more points 14 times in his ISU career, with a career-high of 43 against Tennessee State ... holds the career record for most free throws attempted ... was said to have a 33-inch vertical jump ... played four years with the Harlem Globetrotters ... inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Hall of Fame and the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame ... taught history and coached golf at Gary Westside High School (Ind.).
