Was a four-year letterman in basketball and baseball ... was co-captain and leading scorer for the 1937 basketball squad which posted a 20-3 record for one of the best winning percentages in Redbird basketball history ... during his senior year he averaged more than 15 points a game, in a time when teams averaged only 40 points a contest.
