Two-year letterwinner in football and baseball ... a first-team Little All-America selection during the 1969 national championship baseball season ... had a .413 batting average in his senior season...all-conference and MVP in both sports ... broke his leg in his final baseball game at ISU (and thus did not play in the College World Series), but was still drafted and signed by the San Francisco Giants in the fifth round of the MLB Draft ... played professionally in both football and baseball until a knee injury disrupted his career with the Cleveland Browns in 1971 ... was considered the fastest player on the Browns' roster as a rookie, seeing action as both a defensive back, flanker, and kick returner ... worked out for the Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals after his injury.
