Three-year football letterwinner ... started in 30-consecutive games ... All-Interstate Conference selection junior and senior year ... Kodak College Division all-American and an Associated Press All-American honorable mention in 1969 ... was a coach and athletic administrator at Kankakee Bishop McNamara High School (1975-95), where he amassed a 309-234 record in 20 years as head basketball coach ...guided the Fightin' Irish to 10 regional titles, including seven-consecutive from 1987-93... also won three sectional titles and eight conference titles... had a 13-year stint as the school's athletic director ... Krieg was also a defensive coordinator for over 20 years for the football squad that claimed the Class 3A State Championships in 1982 and from 1985-87 ... moved on to coach basketball at Ottawa Marquette and St. Charles East High Schools before retiring in 2001.
