Won 14 championships during his four years at ISU ... during his basketball career, the Redbirds were 35-7 in conference competition ... four-time all-conference honoree and captain of the basketball team in 1941 ... captain of the cross country team in 1940 and 1941 ... led the cross country team to IIAC and state intercollegiate titles ... was voted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
