Three-year letterwinner for the Redbirds … holds the ISU single-season triples (10) record while ranking fourth in putouts (492) … is also tied for fourth in single-season hits (81) and tied for sixth in doubles (20) ... ranks second in career on-base percentage (.464) after posting the fifth-best season-season mark in 1990 (.487) ... led the Redbirds in batting average and hits two-straight seasons (1990-1991) and paced the team in runs (48) scored in 1991 … was a First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in 1990, after leading the league in batting (.404), hits (81), and triples (10) ... his triples total ranks as the eighth-best single-season total in conference history and tied for the best mark in NCAA Division I that season … ... his batting average of .404 in 1990 was No. 39 in the nation that year … also earned MVC All-Academic Team honors in 1990  … batted a team-best .352 with seven home runs and 38 RBI as a junior and was named a Second-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection ... was selected in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1991 and played in the organization for two seasons.
