Four-year letterman who led the nation in passing as a sophomore in 1952 with 2,375 yards and 14 touchdowns on 135-for-242 passing (on a nine-game schedule) ... started all but one game in his four-year collegiate career ... selected to the Little All-America Team in 1952 and was named both team and Interstate Conference MVP that same year ... set career records for passing yards (3,369) and touchdowns (32) ... was a two-way performer, playing both quarterback and safety.
