NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State track & field program returns to Louisville for the Clark-Wood Open for the fourth-consecutive season this weekend, April 23-24 at Cardinal Park. The two-day meet is set to kick off on Friday, April 23 with field events beginning at 11 a.m. EST, followed by running events at 4:30 p.m. EST. On day two, running events will begin at noon EST with the remaining field events set to start at 12:30 p.m.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Redbirds will face competition from 20 different schools, including two Missouri Valley Conference opponents. The following teams will compete at the Clark-Wood Open: Bellarmine, Belmont, Bowling Green, Butler, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Loyola-Chicago, Memphis, Murray State, Notre Dame, Southern Illinois, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and Xavier.

LAST TIME AT LOUISVILLE
At the 2019 Clark-Wood Invite, Charde Golliday broke a 32-year-old school record, winning the long jump competition with a leap of 6.30 meters (20-8 ft.). With that mark, Golliday took down Angie Taylor's previous school record of 6.24m (20-5.75) that had stood since 1987.
UP NEXT
Following the Clark-Wood Open and the Drake Relays this weekend, the 'Birds will return home to host the ISU Invite on April 30 and May 1. The women's teams will compete on Friday, followed by the men's teams on Saturday.
