WATCH MEDIA CONFERENCE LIVE
NORMAL, Ill. – Fans can watch Monday's men's and women's basketball media conferences, featuring men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball coach Barb Smith, beginning at 2:45 p.m., from the media room in Redbird Arena. The event will be streamed live on RedbirdHD.tv.
Smith will take the podium at 2:45 p.m., followed by Muller at 3 p.m. Smith will be joined by senior forward Octavia Crump beginning at 2:45 p.m. Muller will then address the media at 3 p.m. After he is finished fielding questions, redshirt junior forward Nick Banyard and sophomore forward Deontae Hawkins are scheduled to take the podium.
Coming off a 63-61 victory over Murray State Sunday afternoon, the Illinois State men's basketball team (4-6) begins a two-game road trip this week, starting at Illinois-Chicago Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. CT. The Redbirds will then travel to Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Saturday, Dec. 19, for a 1 p.m. CT tipoff. In ISU's win against Murray State, Hawkins scored a game-best and season-high 16 points with nine rebounds, while Banyard totaled a career-best 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Illinois State women's basketball team (1-7) also plays on the road Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Yale, beginning at 6 p.m. CT. ISU most recently fell to Northern Illinois, 68-59, Sunday afternoon, with Crump scoring a season-high 20 points to lead Illinois State's offense. Crump has recorded double-figures in all but one game this season.
