BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State women's coach Barb Smith and men's coach Dan Muller, will air tonight, live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Smith and Muller preview the conclusion to their respective nonconference seasons.
The Barb Smith Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib and Melanie Ward, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Smith will be joined by junior forward Hannah Green. The Redbirds (3-6) are currently in the middle of final exams and return to action Tuesday, Dec. 20, when they travel to Macomb, Illinois, to take on Western Illinois at 7 p.m. Green is averaging 9.7 points per game and team highs of 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 blocks and 2.2 steals per game.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by sophomore forward Phil Fayne. The men's team (5-3) is also in the midst of final exams, and the Redbirds will return to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena Sunday, Dec. 18 to host Saint Joseph's at 3 p.m. Fayne is averaging 10.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's shows live at the Hy-Vee Market Grille, located at: 1403 N. Veterans Parkway, in Bloomington. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM and on GoRedbirds.com.
