Game Notes| Live Audio | Live Stats

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team will make a midweek trip to Saint Louis for a non-conference game against the Billikens after a 5-3 showing on its recent trip to Florida.

First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Louis' Billikens Sports Center. Links for live audio and stats are available at GoRedbirds.com.

Illinois State (7-8) enters the game on a season-best three-game winning streak after winning its final three contests in Florida. The Redbirds earned a pair of wins over Big Ten opponents on the trip, beating Ohio State and Northwestern on March 5 and 6, respectively. Illinois State later won its final three games on the trip, as the Redbirds defeated Western Michigan on March 11, before a doubleheader sweep of Central Michigan and Butler on March 12.

The Redbirds will look to get back to .500 overall with its game at Saint Louis Wednesday. Freshman Jeff Lindgren will get the starting nod for Illinois State. Lindren is 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA in four games this season, including one previous start.

Saint Louis (6-8) has tapped freshman right-hander Miller Hogan for Wednesday's start. Hogan is 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA over three appearances – all starts – totaling 18 innings.

The Redbirds own a decided advantage in the all-time series against Saint Louis, with a 39-21 edge. The most recent meeting of the two teams came in the 2010 NCAA Regional in Louisville, Kentucky, as the Redbirds eliminated the Billikens from postseason play with an 8-3 win.

Wednesday's game is Illinois State's final game before its home-opening series this weekend, March 18-20. The Redbirds will host Milwaukee for three games, beginning with Friday's 4:30 p.m. contest. Admission to all Illinois State home games at Duffy Bass Field is free.
