NORMAL, Ill. – One week after a season-opening victory over Indiana State, the Illinois State swimming team returns to action Saturday when it faces off against Illinois Wesleyan and Lewis in a double dual in Romeoville, Illinois, at 1 p.m.
The Redbirds topped the Sycamores, 185-114, Sept. 30 at Horton Pool in both teams' season opener. Jensen Keck and Morgan Rosser won two individual events each for Illinois State, while Mary Katherine Tillotson and Karley Licking also turned in first-place finishes in individual events in the dual victory over Indiana State.
"I'm very excited to swim against both Lewis and Illinois Wesleyan this weekend," said head swimming coach Scott Cameron. "This meet will give us a chance to improve on the things that we learned about ourselves last weekend, while swimming against two teams."
The Redbird diving team will stay home this weekend. The entire squad will have the next few weeks off in order to prepare for the Redbirds' next home meet, a double dual with Illinois and Southern Illinois at Horton Pool on Oct. 28.
