BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's head coach Barb Smith will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Smith preview their upcoming Missouri Valley Conference matchups.
The Barb Smith Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib and Melanie Ward, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Smith will be joined by freshman forward Megan Talbot. The women's team (6-18, 3-10 MVC) plays its final two home games this coming weekend, starting with Wichita State Friday at 7 p.m., before hosting Missouri State for Senior Day Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Talbot has played in all 24 games this season, including 16 starts. She is averaging 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and is coming off a 10-point performance at Northern Iowa to give her four double-digit scoring games this season.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by sophomore center Daouda "David" Ndiaye. The men's team (21-5, 13-1 MVC) will try to remain atop the MVC standings when the Redbirds play at Missouri State Wednesday at 8 p.m. ISU then returns to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena to host Loyola Chicago Sunday at 3 p.m. Ndiaye most recently collected a career-high nine rebounds and matched a career-best nine points in Illinois State's win over Bradley (Feb. 11). He is averaging a team-best 1.6 blocks plus 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 points per game this season.
