The tournament consists of a 54-hole, stroke-play format, with 36 holes being played Monday and the final 18 holes Tuesday, March 28. Both days will start with a shotgun start at 7:15 a.m. CT.

The tournament field features 22 teams. Representing Illinois State is sophomore Caitlin Sims, freshman Paige Seiser, junior Kiley Walsh, senior Maggie Ambrose and junior Abby Luchtenburg.

"This is a special trip for us to be able to head to the east coast and compete at a prestigious facility that plays host to an LPGA event each year," head coach Darby Sligh said. "It will require every ounce of focus and grit we have to give, and that's the type of play I'm looking for this week. It's exciting to have some youth anchoring the lineup, and we are ready to get competition preparation underway tomorrow."

Sims produced a 1-over-par 72 (36-36) in the third and final round of the Bradley Spring Break Invitational to finish all alone in sixth place on the individual leaderboard at the par-71, 5,921-yard Brookhaven Country Club in the northwest Dallas suburbs. After shooting a 2-over-par 36 on the front nine, Sims fired a 1-under-par 36 on the back, which included two birdies. She finished the tournament with a 225 (77-76-72).

Illinois State concluded the event in seventh place, but the Redbirds did record their lowest round of the tournament Tuesday with a 303 to finish with a three-round total of 928 (308-317-303). Northern Illinois topped the 10-team field with an 890 (294-303-293), 19 strokes ahead of second-place Bradley and 22 strokes ahead of third-place Wichita State.

Walsh also finished with a season-low 72 (37-35) in the final round and tallied three birdies. She carded a 2-under-par 34 on the back nine, collecting pair of birdies at the start, before paring the final seven holes. Walsh finished the tournament with a 235 (79-84-72), which was Illinois State's' third-lowest score.

Seiser, who was in eighth place after the first two rounds after accumulating the Redbirds' lowest score, finished with a 229 (75-77-77), which was good enough for a 13th-place tie. She shot a 6-over-par 77 (41-36) in the final round and finished strong with a 1-under-par 36 on the back nine, which included two birdies.

Luchtenburg finished with a 240 (77-80-83), but her final-round score of 83 (40-43) did not count towards the team's scoring. She birdied one hole in the final round. Senior Renee Solberg rounded out the scoring for Illinois State in the final round with an 82 (40-42) and ended the tournament with a 249 (80-87-82).
