BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois State men's tennis defeated Creighton,7-0, Sunday at the Bloomington Tennis Center to complete the weekend.
"What a way to finish off the weekend, we played arguably the best doubles yet thus far and so that really gave us a boost heading into singles," head coach Mark Klysner said. "In the singles, it was a grind on each court. I was very impressed with the energy in my guys and the fight they showed in beating a much improved team in Creighton."
The Redbirds dominated the day winning matches in all flights of both singles and doubles. Illinois State is 8-3 and has won eight of their last nine matchups.
Christoffer Greve and Igor Kolaric improved their season records to 9-2 in singles, each adding three wins this weekend. Doubles pair Andreas Boers and Pol Botifoll Rius added two wins this weekend improving their record to 8-2. The duo holds the highest doubles record for the season thus far.
The Redbirds will be back on the road Feb. 4 to face Denver in Denver Colorado.
