NORMAL, Ill. -The Illinois State sophomore gymnast Kristyn Bossle was named Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) Specialist of the Week by the conference office Wednesday for her performance on the vault and uneven bars competitions at a dual-meet against Centenary on Jan. 18.
The 5-7 gymnast was notable in the Redbirds first home meet of the 2015 season as she competed and posted in two events. She placed a score of 9.775 to win the vault competition. Additionally, Bossle continued her strong performance of the meet by taking second on the uneven bars with another score of 9.775.
Bossle is the second Redbird to be honored by the conference this season.
The Birds return to action this Sunday in Chicago to face Illinois-Chicago at 2 p.m. inside the UIC Pavilion.
