JONESBORO, Ark. – The Illinois State baseball team's game at Arkansas State scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday has been canceled due to expected low temperatures. The two teams will play their scheduled doubleheader Saturday, with both games now scheduled to go a full nine innings.
Sunday's forecast in Jonesboro calls for a high of 24 degrees and a low of 21 degrees, along with northeast winds at 10-20 miles per hour.
With the change in schedule, Illinois State has adjusted its pitching rotation. Jack Landwehr will start today's opener, while Jacob Hendren will start the nightcap.
The Redbirds won the first game of the series Friday night, 3-0, as Will Headean and Steve Heilenbach combined on a two-hit shutout.
