NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State junior gymnast Amanda Mohler was named Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) Specialist of the Week by the conference office Wednesday, for her performance on the balance beam competition at a tri-meet against Arkansas and conference rival Southeast Missouri last Friday.
Mohler, the third Redbird gymnast to be honored with a weekly MIC award this season, recorded a career-best score of 9.850 to win the balance beam competition and continued her strong performance during the meet with a score of 9.600 on the uneven bars.
The Redbirds return to action this Friday, Feb. 20, at 7p.m., to host their fourth home meet of the season against Air Force Academy, inside Horton Field House.
