NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State soccer team signed five players to the 2015 roster Wednesday on National Signing Day. It's the first class for first-year head coach, Eric Golz. With five seniors departing the program, Golz was able to fill every void.
The Redbirds signed two defenders, one midfielder and one forward. The class includes three players from the state of Illinois, including one from Normal. Two other players come to ISU from the St. Louis, Missouri, area.

Notable: Two-year starter for head coach Joe Moreau at Neuqua Valley High School…member of two-time conference and regional championship teams…named All-Conference as a junior…three-time Academic All-Conference nominee…named to the All-Area team junior season…named to the High Honor Roll…also played basketball at Neuqua Valley High School…plans to major in special education.
Riley Ebenroth | Defensive Back | O'Fallon, Mo. | St. Dominic HS
Notable: Four-year varsity player for head coach Greg Koeller at St. Dominic High School…member of back-to-back state title teams (2013, 2014)…member of three-time conference and district champions…named to the 2012 Missouri Class 2 All-Freshman team and the 2012 All-Regional Freshman Team…named second team all-conference in 2014…three-time Missouri State Cup champion with club team…three-time runner-up in the Missouri State Cup with club team…ranked first in graduating class with a 4.32 grade point average…academic first honors 2011-15…member of National Honor Society…also played basketball and volleyball…plans to major in nursing.
Megan Kozlow | Defensive Back | Geneva, Ill. | Geneva Community HS
Notable: Two-year player for head coach Megan Owens at Geneva Community High School…scored five goals and dished out eight assists as a freshman and sophomore…member of back-to-back Regional championship teams…named All-Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore…member of Regional and State championship club team that qualified for Nationals in 2014…team ranked first in state and second in the region…member of National Honor Society…Academic All-Conference in 2012-13…plans to major in accounting.
Taylor Schneider | Midfielder | St. Louis, Mo. | Lafayette HS
Notable: Four-year starter for head coach Tim Walters at Lafayette High School…first team All-Metro and All-Conference choice junior year (2014)…led Lafayette High School in goals scored in 2013…two-year captain for high school team…four-year captain for club team…three-time state finalist with club team and two-time state champion…Disney Showcase champion with club team (2012) and Disney Showcase finalist (2014)…maintains a 3.5 grade point average…plans to major in finance with a goal of being an entrepreneur.
Keely Theobald | Forward | Normal, Ill. | Normal West Community HS
Notable: Four-year starter for head coach Val Walker at Normal West Community High School…two-time All-State choice (2013, 2014)…tallied 122 goals in three seasons, including 55 as a junior…scored a goal in 24-straight games in 2014…helped NWCHS to a 67-13-1 record over the past three seasons…tallied 28 career assists, including 17 as a junior…member of state runner-up and two-time conference champion team.
