NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team will be seeking its first dual meet victory this season as it hosts Evansville Friday. The Redbirds will also be honoring their five seniors as part of the Senior Night festivities at Horton Pool. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m.
Illinois State head swimming coach Scott Cameron is hoping to send his seniors out with a victory.
"I am very much looking forward to our meet Friday," said Cameron. "This will be our last home meet of the year, as well as our senior meet, where we will honor our five outgoing seniors.
"This meet will give us another opportunity to work on the little details that our athletes need to improve on with conference fast approaching. It should be a fun and fast meet for us."
Redbird diving will be competing for the second week in a row, and head diving coach Phil Hoffmann is looking forward to another tune-up, heading into the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in less than a month (Feb.17-20).
"I am excited for this meet. We have had a great week of practice leading up to the meet," said Hoffmann.
Friday marks the Redbirds' last dual meet of the season before traveling to South Bend, Indiana, for the Shamrock Invitational, Jan. 29-30.
Admission to all home meets is free.
