NORMAL, Ill. – The nominees for the 2015-16 Jill Hutchison Female Athlete of the Year and Milt Weisbecker Male Athlete of the Year awards were announced Wednesday.
The winners will be named at The Reggies, Illinois State's annual academic excellence awards ceremony, on Sunday, Oct. 23. The event, held at Redbird Arena, is sponsored by State Farm.
Nominees for the Jill Hutchinson Female Athlete of the Year Award are Jordan de los Reyes (softball), Sarah Mussallem (track and field/cross country), Ashley Rosch (volleyball), Amanda Mohler (gymnastics) and Courtney Taylor (swimming and diving).
Nominees for the Milt Weisbecker Male Athlete of the Year Award are Dylan Steffens (tennis), Ryan Rutherford (track and field/cross country), Owen Miller (baseball), Anthony Warrum (football) and Trent Wallace (golf).Â
Five other awards will be conferred on Oct. 23, including the Impact Award, Good Neighbor Award, Linda Herman Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award and Doug Collins Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, as well as the Dr. Jim Johnson Phoenix Award.
