Pair of Former Redbirds Ink Professional Deal with Club Natació Terrassa
TERRASSA, Spain – Former Illinois State women's basketball standout Octavia Crump, who plays professionally for Club Natació Terrassa, has been selected to participate in the Catalonia Cup Women's Basketball All-Star Game Jan. 8, 2017. Crump and her teammate, Elena Silva, were voted to the team by the coaches.
The all-star game is an initiative launched this year within the framework of cooperation agreements between the network and the Catalan Basketball Federation to enhance the Catalonia Cup.
Crump is not the only Redbird on the team. Former teammate Colleene Smith is also on the squad, and the duo has helped CN Terrassa to the No. 4 ranking in Group 2 of the Copa Catalonia.
Last month, Crump scored a team-high 17 points to lead CN Terrassa to a 57-51 victory over its rival CB Even. She also scored the go-ahead bucket in a 59-58 triumph over Barca.
