NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State student-athletes had another successful semester in the classroom this fall as the group posted a combined grade-point average (GPA) of 3.15, nearly matching the departmental record of 3.16, set during the fall 2014 semester.
The women's golf team and men's tennis team were Illinois State's team GPA winners this fall. The women's golf team set a new departmental record with a 3.91 team GPA, while the men's tennis team narrowly edged the men's cross country team by one-thousandth of a point, with a 3.469 team GPA.
The baseball, men's cross country and women's golf teams all set team GPA records this fall. The gymnastics team tied its GPA record.
A total of 294 student-athletes were named to the AFNI Honor Roll, while 71 earned perfect 4.0 GPAs during the fall semester. The student-athletes earning AFNI Honor Roll status will be honored during a halftime presentation at Illinois State's men's basketball game on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. versus Indiana State.
