NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Redbird gymnastics team finished second in tonight's meet with a final score of 192.225, while Bowling Green took first with a 194.175.
 "I was very proud of the girls," head coach Bob Conkling said. "It's been a rough couple of weeks with sickness's and concussions and they really fought through."
Senior Amanda Mohler finished her final home meet of her collegiate career with a beam score of 9.875 and an uneven bars score of 9.750.
"Amanda had an awesome senior night," Conkling said. "She won both events she competed in against a hard team in those events.
"It's always hard on a meet to take people out of your starting line up," Conkling said. "But the other girls really stepped up and put in a lot of hard work."
"Going into conference were giving the girls the next two days off to rest," Conkling said. "Come Sunday we will be ready to jump back into things, and get some of the girls who were out back into the routine of practice."
The Redbirds return to action for the MIC Conference meet Saturday, March 19, TBA.
