The Players Golf Outing Moved To June 29-30

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics' annual fundraiser golf outing, The Players, has been set for June 29-30 on the ISU campus and at the Weibring Golf Course.

The Players supports the Redbird Golf programs, the golf simulation room, expansion of The Jim and Carole Mounier Training Center and other enhancements. The event allows current Redbirds to connect with friends of the program and provides former players the opportunity to support Redbird Golf. 

The Players Package is $395 and includes a cocktail party for two at the Hancock Stadium Club, the 18-hole Shambles event, lunch stations, on-course beverages, and participant appreciation gift. Playing spots and sponsorship opportunities are available. 

The two-day celebration begins on Wednesday, June 29, with The Players Cocktail Party from 6-9 p.m. at the Hancock Stadium Club. A carving station and heavy hors d'oeurves will be served, and an open bar will be featured as participants mix and mingle with fellow golfers, alumni and special guests. The formal program will feature comments from Redbird and Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Famer DA Weibring and ISU Director of Athletics Larry Lyons. Redbird Golf head coaches Ray Kralis and Darby Sligh will then speak about their teams, and feature highlights of their accomplishments. 

The Players Golf Outing will take place the following afternoon on Thursday, June 30, at the Weibring Golf Course.  Weibring will host a clinic for participants beginning at 11 a.m., and the 18-hole Shambles event will tee off at noon with a shotgun start.  Golfers will be treated to onsite lunch stations, appreciation gifts, and an after-outing social including appetizers and awards.
