NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State fans are invited to help honor first responders and service members this Sunday, Sept. 11, at 12 p.m. for Patriot Day, when the soccer team welcomes North Dakota to Adelaide Street Field.
All first responders and service members of each department or branch are welcome to attend the contest and be a part of a special halftime recognition. Before the match, vehicles from the Illinois Army National Guard will be on display for fans to enjoy. The nation's colors will be presented by the Bloomington Police Department Honor Guard.
Special treats in the concession stand will be for sale, including red, white and blue popcorn and popsicles provided by Sodexo. Admission to Sunday's match is free, as well as all soccer matches throughout the 2016 season.
