BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State women's coach Barb Smith and men's coach Dan Muller, will air tonight, live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Smith and Muller preview their upcoming Missouri Valley Conference matchups.
The Barb Smith Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib and Melanie Ward, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Smith will be joined by senior guard Taylor Stewart. The women's team (4-10, 1-2 MVC) returns to action this weekend when the Redbirds host Northern Iowa Friday at 7 p.m. and Drake Sunday at 2 p.m. Stewart is averaging team highs of 12.4 points and 2.4 assists per game while leading the team in three-point shooting (34.1, 29-of-85) and at the free throw line (82.9, 34-of-41).
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by senior guard Tony Wills. The men's team (12-4, 4-0 MVC) puts its undefeated league record on the line when the Redbirds travel to Southern Illinois (10-7, 3-1 MVC) Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tipoff. Illinois State then hosts preseason MVC favorite Wichita State (14-3, 4-0 MVC) Saturday at 7 p.m. on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. Wills is averaging 6.1, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's shows live at the Hy-Vee Market Grille, located at: 1403 N. Veterans Parkway, in Bloomington. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM and on GoRedbirds.com.
