NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's soccer team (8-6-2, 2-2-0 MVC) continues conference play when they travel to Valparaiso, Indiana to face Valley newcomer Valparaiso (8-7-0, 2-2 MVC). The last time The Redbirds faced the Crusaders was in 2007, with the Redbirds coming out on top, 2-1.

Valparaiso – What You Need to Know
The Crusaders are coming off a conference loss last Sunday, when they faced Northern Iowa at home and fell , 1-2, in overtime. They have also faced Valley opponents Loyola (W, 2-1), Drake (L, 2-4), and Missouri State (W, 1-0). Cory Griffith and Sydney Griffin lead the team offensively. Griffith has seven goals and three assists on the season while Griffin has six goals and five assists. Drew Moulton and Kezia Gesell anchor the team between the pipes. Moulton has 39 saves and three shutouts on the season so far while Gesell has 22 saves and one shutout. They share a similar save percentage, Moulton with .796 and Gesell with .710, and similar GAA, Moulton with 1.16 and Gesell with 1.38. Moulton has nine matches in her gloves for the Crusaders while Gesell holds six games.
Last Time Out
The Redbirds fell to Indiana State (6-7-1, 1-3 MVC) last Saturday, 2-1, in Terre Haute. The start of the match was a slow one on both sides of the ball, with the first real shot on goal not coming until the 13th minute of the match when the Redbirds took the 1-0 lead. Sophomore Mikayla Unger put the ball away off a slot pass from senior Kelli Zickert inside the 18. Back-to-back goals in the 31st minute gave the Sycamores a 2-1 advantage going into half, which would also give them the win at the conclusion of play.
