NORMAL, Ill. – Coming off a big Homecoming victory over fourth-ranked South Dakota, No. 16/21 Illinois State will hit the road this weekend to face nationally-ranked Youngstown State at Stambaugh Stadium. Head Coach Brock Spack will break down the win over the Coyotes and preview the game with the Penguins this Thursday night at the Brock Spack Show live from Schooners in Bloomington at 6 p.m.
The Redbirds snapped a two-game road losing skid with a decisive 37-21 win over the Coyotes last Saturday on Homecoming. The win propelled ISU into a three-way tie for second place in the MVFC standings heading into this week's game against Youngstown State. The Penguins head into the game reeling, after losing their past three contests by just a combined 11 points.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz and welcome senior safety Alec Kocour to the show as this week's player guest. Kocour had five tackles in last week's win over the Coyotes and recorded his first interception of the season and fifth of his career at ISU.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove Street and Clinton Boulevard. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com. Fans can also listen to the show via the TuneIn app by searching "Illinois St. Redbirds Sports Network."
