Pence, Keene Earn AVCA All-Region Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Illinois State's Courtney Pence and Jaelyn Keene have been named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-North Region selections, the organizations announced Tuesday. Pence was an all-region first-team selection, while Keene earned honorable mention status.

Pence earned the all-region selection for the first time of her career, while Keene finishes her career earning the honor for a fourth-straight season. Both were previously named All-Missouri Valley Conference First-Team selections.

Pence, a junior from Springfield, Illinois, leads all NCAA Division I players in total digs (821), while rankings second in digs per set (6.27). She set Illinois State's single-season digs record (821) and broke the school's career digs record (2,083) in just her junior season.

Keene, a senior from Jacksonville, Illinois, led Illinois State in kills (503), attacks (1,156), hitting percentage (.326), aces (43) and blocks (131). She finished her career ranking in the top 10 in school history in kills (1,567), aces (140) and blocks (472), and set a new ISU career hitting percentage record (.367).

Both Pence and Keene are now eligible for AVCA All-America honors, which will be announced Dec. 13.
