NORMAL, Ill. – With three-straight playoff appearances and four in the last five seasons, the Illinois State football team has had a lot to celebrate recently. On Wednesday, the Redbirds celebrated in a different way, as ISU head coach Brock Spack and his staff announced the newest additions to the Redbird football team at a press conference held at Hancock Stadium on 2017 National Signing Day.
The group of NLI signees includes six offensive linemen, four wide receivers, four defensive backs, three defensive line/linebacker prospects, two linebackers and one quarterback and tight end. The class also includes one mid-year transfer signee in former TCU linebacker Tyree Horton
The Redbirds will take the field to begin spring practice in March, with the annual spring showcase set for Saturday, April 22, at Hancock Stadium.
