RESULTS
AMES, Iowa – The Illinois State gymnastics team participated in its first of two meets this weekend, when the Redbirds competed against Iowa State and Gustavus Adolphus Friday night inside Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones won the meet with a score of 195.625, followed by the Redbirds with a 192.700, and Gustavus Adolphus was third with a score of 186.275.
Sophomore Meredith LaRoche continued to put together solid routines in the all-around and finished in second overall with a 38.975. Â LaRoche tied for third on the vault (9.750) and on the floor exercise (9.800) and tied for fourth on the beam (9.725) to round out a solid performance. Â Freshman Gabrielle Cooke was fourth in the all-around with a 38.575, thanks to a tie for third place on the floor with LaRoche.
Anna Marema also continued her impressive work on the uneven bars, as she tied for first place with a 9.825. Madison Solka and Marie Priest also had solid routines on the floor, with scores of 9.750 to finish in a tie for sixth place just behind LaRoche and Cooke.Â
The Redbirds will have a day off on Saturday, before returning home Sunday to host Wisconsin-La Crosse at Horton Field House beginning at 11 a.m.
