NORMAL, Ill. – Five members of the Illinois State volleyball team will travel to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, this weekend to take part in the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts, beginning Friday. Â
Illinois State's Jaelyn Keene, Ali Line, Courtney Pence, Lexi Varga and Jordan Weatherless will be among 244 participants from 81 college programs and 10 high schools competing at the tryout. At stake are spots on the U.S. Women's National Team, U.S. Collegiate National Team and U.S. Women's Junior National Team.
The three-day tryout will be conducted under the direction of three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly and the U.S. Women's National Team coaching staff.
