NORMAL, Ill. – A total of 15 ISU gymnasts were named Midwest Independent Conference Academic All-Conference Team. These athletes were honored at the MIC Championships banquet, which was hosted by Illinois-Chicago at UIC Pavilion last weekend.
Those that represented Illinois State and were named MIC Academic All-Conference were: Alyssa Bossle, Kristyn Bossle, Megan Knoernschild, Meredith LaRoche, Katherine Locher, Anna Marema, Kylie Meyer, Demi Pas, Marissa Piper, Sarah Pollman, Marie Priest, Jessica Rothman, Madison Solka, Samantha Ward and Alyssa Wiggle.
Marema took home First-Team All-MIC honors and won the conference championship on bars with a score of 9.875 and Pas also earned first-team honors, thanks to a second-place finish on beam with a 9.775. LaRoche placed third in the all-around competition with a score of 39.050 to earn First-Team All-MIC honors, the fourth Redbird overall to do so.Â
