BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Barb Smith Show, featuring Illinois State women's basketball head coach Barb Smith, will air tonight beginning at 6 p.m. live from the Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Smith previews this week's Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament – Hoops in the Heartland.
Hosted by Greg Halbleib, the Barb Smith Show will feature interviews with the leader of the Redbirds and sophomore Viria Livingston, the team's leading rebounder at 5.7 boards per game.
Illinois State (7-22, 4-14 MVC) is the No. 9 seed in the conference tournament held at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois. The Redbirds begin play Thursday, March 9, at 4 p.m. against No. 8 seed Indiana State. The winner plays Friday, March 9, against No. 1 seed Drake at 12 p.m.
