NORMAL, Ill. – Fans are invited to attend the Illinois State Men's Basketball Season Celebration Monday, April 24, beginning at 6 p.m., in Redbird Arena.
The celebration is free and open to the public, with free parking available in lots surrounding Redbird Arena. Additionally, a limited edition poster commemorating the 2016-17 ISU men's basketball campaign will be given away, while supplies last.
Players and coaches will join fans in celebrating the historic Redbird basketball season, which included winning a share of the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship while setting program records in total victories (28), regular-season wins (25) and MVC triumphs (17). After finishing second at the State Farm MVC Tournament, ISU earned a No. 1 seed in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The Redbirds won their NIT first-round matchup before bowing out in the second round.
Doors to the Men's Basketball Season Celebration open at 5:30 p.m., and a brief program – including speakers and a season highlight video – is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Following the program, players and coaches will mingle and take photos with fans.
Concessions can be purchased from a limited menu, and fans may also buy MVC Championship T-shirts and replica jerseys from the Alamo II stand throughout the Men's Basketball Celebration.
