Men’s Golf Tees off Monday at Tiger Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State men's golf team will be competing in Missouri's Tiger Invitational beginning Monday at the par-72, 7,221-yard Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Missouri, in its final tournament before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

The tournament features a 54-hole stroke-play format, with 36-holes being played Monday and the final 18-holes being played Tuesday, April 10. The first two rounds of play will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, and the final round will start at 8 a.m. as well. Live scoring will be available throughout the event at GolfStat.com.

Eighteen teams will be competing in the tournament, including three teams in the MVC (Drake, Missouri State, Northern Iowa). The field also includes Little Rock, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Creighton, IUPUI, Morehead State, Nicholls State, Northern Illinois, SIUE, South Dakota State, UMKC and Western Illinois.

The Redbirds will be represented by junior Zach Burry, senior Christian Crabill, freshman David Perkins, senior Austin Havens and sophomore Trent Wallace.

LAST TIME OUT
Crabill finished strong in the final round of Indiana's Hoosier Invitational at the par-71, 6,813-yard Indiana University Golf Course April 2. The senior finished with a 2-over-par 73, recorded five birdies and finished produced a three-round total of 4-over-par 217 (73-71-73). Illinois State finished the tournament in seventh place with an 872 (290-286-296).

Wallace carded a 5-over-par 218 (72-73-73), and Burry concluded the tournament with a 7-over-par 220 (73-73-74). Freshman Trey Tussey shot 8-over-par 221 (72-73-76), and Perkins rounded out the scoring with a 223 (76-69-78).

UP NEXT
The Redbirds will aim to win the MVC Championship, April 24-25, at Cog Hill Country Club in Lemont, Illinois.
