NORMAL, Ill. – Saturday's Missouri Valley Conference baseball game between Illinois State and No. 12 Missouri State has been canceled due to inclement weather. There will not be a makeup date.
The cancelation comes a day after the Redbirds became the first team in the MVC to beat 2017 regular-season champion Missouri State. Illinois State earned an 8-5 win over the Bears Friday afternoon at Duffy Bass Field.
With Missouri State owning the No. 1 seed and Illinois State locked into the No. 8 seed for next week's MVC Tournament, the teams will meet again in the opening round of the tourney, Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at Hammons Field in Springfield, Missouri.
