NORMAL, Ill. – Reggie's Kids Club members will have several opportunities to #BackTheBirds at special events this fall, beginning with the annual Redbird Fan Fair on Aug. 19 at Hancock Stadium.
The first 500 Reggie's Kids Club members in attendance will receive the official 2017 Reggie's Kids Club T-shirt. Reggie's Kids Club, presented by Papa John's, is free for children ages 12 and under, and each member receives Reggie's monthly eNewsletter about all the Reggie's Kids Club events, a birthday card from Reggie and give-a-ways and invitations to exclusive Reggie's Kids Club events. Children who have been signed up in the past do not need to "renew" their membership. Once a child is signed up, their membership stays active until they turn 13 years old.
Student-athletes and coaches from Illinois State's 19 varsity sports teams will be on hand at the Fan Fair, assisting in the various games. They will interact with the fans and will be signing autographs on a limited basis. Additional activities include inflatable games provided by Fun on the Run and a climbing wall provided by Upper Limits.
Reggie's Kids Club will then host its annual Football Cheer Clinic prior to the season-opener Sept. 2 against Butler. More information will be released about registration and time on GoRedbirds.com. Two weeks later, Redbird soccer will host its annual RKC Day beginning at noon prior to its contest versus Miami (Ohio) which is free to attend.
The next event on the busy schedule will be the annual RKC Night with Redbird Football Sept. 30 prior to the 6:30 p.m. kickoff against Indiana State. Members must request a free ticket, which will have a voucher for a free Reggie Redbird foam finger for the first 500 registrants. Interested members can RSVP using a unique code they receive via a mailed flyer or in the email newsletter starting Aug. 1. Kids ages 4-12 will also be invited to run out onto the field with the team prior to kickoff against the Sycamores.
Three events will also take place in the month of October, with the volleyball 'Pack The Arena' game Oct. 7 against Valparaiso at 7 p.m. serving as the kickoff to the month, where admission is free for all fans. The men's and women's basketball teams will then welcome fans to their annual free Hoopfest Oct. 20, before volleyball hosts its RKC Night Oct. 28 beginning at 6 p.m. prior its match against Drake. Admission for volleyball is free for Kids Club members with their member ID card.
