NORMAL, Ill. – Fresh off a bye week, the Illinois State football team is eager to get back to action Saturday when it travels to Charleston, Illinois, for the 106th meeting of the Mid-America Classic versus Eastern Illinois. ISU head coach Brock Spack will talk about the rivalry game against the Panthers on The Brock Spack Show LIVE from Schooners Thursday night from 6-7 p.m.
The No. 14 ranked Redbirds held the Butler Bulldogs to just 41 yards of total offense in the season opener, which set a Hancock Stadium record for fewest total yards allowed to an opponent. The ISU defense also did not allow a yard rushing to the Bulldogs, which only picked up three first downs all evening. On the flip side, the ISU offense racked up 519 yards of total offense, with 320 of those yards coming on the ground as the Redbirds improved to 9-0 in home openers under the leadership of Spack.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz, welcoming senior pass rusher James Graham as this week's player guest. The senior from Chicago recorded the game's lone sack against Butler and looks to help the Redbird defense post another strong performance against the Panthers and bring home the Mid-America Classic trophy.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove Street and Clinton Boulevard. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com.
