BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming Missouri Valley Conference matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by senior forward Hannah Green. The women's team (6-8, 0-3 MVC) plays a home weekend of Missouri Valley Conference play, hosting Missouri State on Friday, Jan. 12, and Southern Illinois on Sunday, Jan. 14. Green has played in 13 games this season with 11 starts, and has a team-high 178 points and 27 blocked shots. She has made 18-of-51 three-point field goals, and also averages 5.8 rebounds per game.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by junior forward Phil Fayne. The men's team (9-7, 3-1 MVC) hosts Loyola on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., before traveling to Southern Illinois for a Saturday, Jan. 13 contest at Southern Illinois. Fayne leads the Redbirds in rebounds, averaging 6.9 per game, and also leads the team with 15 blocked shots. His scoring average of 16.7 is second on the team, as are his 19 steals, which is one off of the team lead.
