BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming Missouri Valley Conference matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by sophomore forward, Megan Talbot. The women's team (10-12, 4-7 MVC) returns to the road this week of Missouri Valley Conference play, facing off against Southern Illinois on Friday, Feb. 9, and Missouri State on Sunday, Feb. 11. Talbot has played in all 22 games and started 17 games during the season, and has reached double-figure scoring eight times. Talbot leads her team and is tied for fourth in the MVC, averaging 6.4 rebounds per game, and has set a new career high in points this season.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by junior forward Milik Yarbrough. The men's team (13-11, 7-5 MVC) remains home on Thursday to face Southern Illinois on Doug Collins Court at 8 p.m. and travels to Valparaiso on Sunday with tip-off time at 3 p.m. Yarbrough has started in 19 games and played in 23 games this season. He averages 16.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists, earning him Missouri Valley Player of the Week honors twice and Newcomer of the Week four times this season.
