NORMAL, Ill. – Junior golfer Caitlin Sims has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the week, announced by the Conference on Wednesday.
The junior Athens, Illinois, native placed in a fifth place tie in the field at Bradley's Spring Break Invitational on March 12-13 with an 8-over-par 227 over the three rounds, including a 2-over-par 75 in the second round and 1-over-par 74 in the final round of the tournament.
The junior's 8-over-par 227 this week was her lowest 54-hole score of this season. The 1-over-par 74 in the second round on Monday was her lowest round of the season.
Sims looks to continue her strong play on March 19-20 at William & Mary's Kingsmill Intercollegiate when she and the Redbirds travel to Williamsburg, VA.
