NORMAL, Ill. – Sophomore David Perkins continued his impressive performance on Sunday in the final round of Illinois State's own D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate. The sophomore fired a 2-under-par 69, which included four birdies at the par-71, 6,915-yard Weibring Golf Club. Overall, Perkins earned a 4th-place tie on the individual leaderboard with a final score of 5-over-par 218 (76-73-69).
The Redbirds finished in third place after shooting a 12-over-par 296 in the final round to finish with an overall score of 895 (305-294-296). 25-ranked Duke won the 17-team event with an even-par 284 in the final round to finish with a 19-over-par 871 (303-284-284).
Senior Zach Burry finished his final 18 holes with a 4-over-par 75 to complete the tournament with a 9-over-par 222 (74-73-75). The senior's consistent shooting landed him in 14th-place on the individual leaderboard.
Juniors David Rauer and Trent Wallace both concluded the final round with a 5-over-par 76. The juniors also rounded out the tournament identically with an 18-over-par 231.
Freshman Daniel Anfield saved his best for last, shotting a 5-over-par 76 in the final round. Anfield finished one stroke behind Rauer and Wallace with a 19-over-par 232 (77-79-76).
