Full Day of Football Family Fun Set for April 21

NORMAL, Ill. – A long offseason of lifting weights and training and four-plus weeks of spring practice will come to an end when fans have an opportunity to see the new-look Redbirds at the annual Spring Showcase, April 21, at Hancock Stadium.

The day's activities will begin with Redbird Athletics Garage Sale, which will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. inside Horton Field House. The 9th annual Kids Football Fest will then take place on the playing field at Hancock Stadium, weather permitting. 
Registration will begin at 10 a.m., with the program starting at 10:30 a.m., and running until noon. The event is free and open to all Reggie's Kids Club members ages 12 and under, with adult supervision. Parents of Reggie's Kids Club members should RSVP for their child/children online, or by contacting the ISU Athletics Marketing staff at (309) 438-3399.

Head football coach Brock Spack will be in attendance to talk with all the participants and offer some words of advice on the importance of staying active and playing sports. Activities include a catching station with the Redbird quarterbacks, a field goal station with the Redbird kickers, throwing accuracy, tackling stations and an obstacle course. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to dress up like a Redbird football player and get their picture taken with the ISU cheerleaders and Reggie Redbird. 

An expanded Reggie's Kids Club Fun Zone will then be available to Kids Football Fest Participants and other children in attendance from Noon-1 p.m., prior to kickoff of the annual Spring Showcase scrimmage. Hancock Stadium East concourse concession stands will be open beginning at noon and will feature a $6 hot dog, chips and 16 ounce soda combo deal. Parking for all the day's activities will be free in lots G73, G83, G64, and G53 adjacent to the stadium. 

Fans can renew their 2018 Redbird Football season tickets online at GoRedbirds.com/Tickets or by contacting the ISU Athletics Ticket Office at (309) 438-8000 until April 20. New season ticket orders and single-game tickets will go on sale at a date and time to be announced.
