NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's soccer program is set to host their second annual goalkeeper-specific camp. Instruction and coaching for the camp will be provided by assistant coach and goalkeeping coach Sarah Tompkins. This camp is the only goalkeeper-specific camp offered by a Division I University in the state of Illinois for 2018 and will also feature coaching from the University of Illinois goalkeeping coach Nick Stirrett. The camp will be open for viewing by other university coaches as well.
The goalkeeping camp is designed for those that aspire to take their goalkeeping to the next level. This camp is open to 8th-12th grade boys and girls, with an emphasis on the technical, tactical, and psychological sides of goalkeeping. Â
The camp will be capped at 25 participants to provide individualized attention and will be instructed by the Illinois State soccer staff and players. The camp will be held on July 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost of the camp is $75 and will include a t-shirt.
